雨人

My idol, Wakin Chau, finally released a new album today! This album entitled 雨人,or in english it's called "Wakin in the rain", is a long awaited album for fans like me. And we have waited 2 years since the last album leh! Wahaha.. it has become more of a pleasant suprise to see a new album release from our dear 华健大哥。

After listening to the songs, felt it's so valentine! Some of the songs are quite lovely, not puppy love style, but touching. Hmm why not release this album during valentines day eh? Read somewhere that Wakin have been treating the mainland as his second home eh, no wonder I find some music elements in a few songs that has the shanghai-style feel. You know, together with packaging, got the classy 夜上海 feel.

Actually I find that since the last album, Wakin's music have changed quite abit. It has become abit new-age style, with some elements in the music that Wakin did not use before in the past. Quite modern too. In fact, Wakin quite power too. His music is no more influence by the market trend. His music now carries on with the unique wakin-style, which I believe is a class of his own.

Some of the songs that I would recommend are the 2 主打歌,雨人 and 我们不哭,and other songs that I find particularly nice are 爱情路, 以后, Time, Wake up.....

Great mission, great responsibility

March is the month that I'm officially assigned as assistant YMD district leader. Still remember it's dear LKK that push me into this mission for me to fulfill about less than a year ago. And finally after some time, I'm called upon to take up leadership in my district.

And so that adds how many more gakkai meetings I have to attend this month? 1, 2, 3,...... 4! At least 4 more meetings in addition to SD meetings and other events. But it's such an exciting March! Being able to attend gakkai meetings is so revitalising. It pushes me further in my life, and also giving me less time to nuah. What's more is the great joy of being able to contribute something to my district, to be able to work for the happiness of others.

I must say I don't really feel for my district that much when I'm younger. I guess younger youths will more or less feel so, finding district meetings are for adults not for young ones. But as I learn more about the gakkai spirit from SD, I realized, how beautiful the district is. It's a gathering of people from all ages and background, all learning and sharing with each other, like one big family. As I start to really embrace my district, I feel I can do something to make every district meeting a great success where everyone can gain the most out of it.

This month's district meeting is an unforgettable one. This is the first time I contribute to my district as a district leader. It's pretty fun working with all the district leaders to plan the district meeting. My district we have 4 WD, 1 MD, 1 YWD, and 2 YMD including me. It brings great joy to me that I can contribute with all the knowledge I learnt from my training in SD, and also to learn from all these seniors in faith. We are a pretty fun group, and a noisy one haha. Our MD chief is also newly appointed about 4 months ago. And he is so good in cracking jokes and bonding everyone into a big family.

As this year there's a new format in how the district meeting should be planned, my district is using the new format from this month. And with the loads of ideas I always have, I did contribute quite a bit during the planning. Actually I'm in a bit of dilemma whether I should be so gunho. I'm just a junior! I should be more humble right. And they are all my seniors. Like the saying goes they might eat more salt than I eat rice wahahaha.. Nevertheless, everyone actually accepted my ideas. In fact, I was quite anxious about the district meeting. What if things goes wrong? What if my ideas are too "youth-related" that it cannot fit into the 4-division? In fact I was so nervous I chanted very hard on the actual day. I chanted with the ichinen that this district meeting must be a great success that can inspire everyone that attended.

Indeed the meeting was a great success!! Alot of people came for this month's meeting. And everything went well as planned. In fact on that day, the guest was our chapter vice MD chapter chief Kee Peng. He commented at the end that our district is the best district in our chapter that he attended so far. Woo... hearing that I felt so elated! It's an indescribable joy in me. I realized, how joyous it is to be able to work for the happiness of other, of our district, of another human being. That night, I can't sleep well actually wahaha. 真的是太喜悦了!I kept thinking about the meeting that was just over, about how the meeting can be improved......

I also reminded myself what sensei always said to youth, that youth should never be arrogant. Joy of victory can bring to one arrogant. I must not be arrogant. No matter what, must be humble and learn from my seniors and work with everyone....

March is an exciting month. The month that I took on a new mission. Great mission brings great responsibility. I will continue to work hard and harder for my district and all members. 加油!!

Molly Brown was on board the Titanic when it tragically sunk in 1912. Although she knew the ship was taking on water, she shouted to a panic-stricken fellow passenger: "There's no danger. It simply can't go down, because I'm on it and I'm unsinkable." Her bantering words, which rang out with the determination never to be defeated and never to give in to despair are said to have given courage to her fellow passengers. Those who stand up at a crucial moment demonstrate genuine greatness.
